Celebration in São Tomé.

It was a collective euphoria when Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa left the official residence of the Sao Tome prime minister for the Yon Gato square in the center of the capital. The dozens of children waiting for him and singing "Marcelo where you are, I'm here just to see you," they shouted as if a television or soccer star had arrived. The Portuguese President - who is on a three-day state visit to Sao Tome and Principe - has plunged into a multitude of folk groups.
